One of the key strategic priorities set forth in the ACSL Group’s Medium-Term Management Plan is the “advancement of aircraft capabilities through cutting-edge technologies,” with the aim of establishing next-generation autonomous control technologies. The ACSL Group believes that the continuous pursuit of advanced technologies forms the foundation for its medium- to long-term growth.
In order to further accelerate this strategy, ACSL has determined that it is an urgent priority to strengthen a management structure under which advanced technology research is led on a dedicated basis from a global perspective.
Against this backdrop, ACSL has appointed Niklas Bergström as Executive Officer, Head of Advanced Technology. Bergström will lead advanced technology research initiatives and drive research and development aimed at establishing next-generation autonomous control technologies and related technologies.
Within the ACSL Group’s research and development framework, Yasuki Ikeuchi (Executive Officer, Research and Development Unit), Niklas Bergström (Executive Officer, Head of Advanced Technology), and Chris Raabe (Global CTO, based in the United States) will work collaboratively, leveraging their respective strengths and roles to advance research and development initiatives.
Ikeuchi will be responsible for company-wide decision-making related to product development strategy, budget formulation, and the management of related organizations and resources. In addition, primarily in the Japanese market, he will promote research and development by disseminating technical information to customers, engaging in technical dialogue, identifying development needs, and reflecting those needs in research activities. Meanwhile, Raabe will continue to be responsible for technical outreach in the U.S. market and for gathering development needs through dialogue with customers, and will play a key role in feeding such needs back to the Research and Development Unit.
The ACSL Group will continue to strengthen its global competitiveness and pursue sustainable growth through strategic and continuous investment in research and development.
